What We're Eating

Family Circle‘s food editors receive a tremendous amount of products to review. We can’t always find the time to try them in our test kitchen, so I often test products at home. This past weekend my local supermarket had boneless country-style pork ribs on sale and I couldn’t resist. Sitting on my “products to try” shelf was this Archer Farms (Target brand) Korean-Style Barbecue slow cooker simmer sauce which seemed like an ideal match for my ribs.

All I did was follow the simple directions on the bottle. Two pounds of boneless ribs went into the slow cooker and I poured half the jar of sauce over the top. After 6 hours on low the meat was sooo tender but still moist. The sauce is absolutely delicious. Just the right balance of sweet, salty and a nice level of heat. We ate it the first time over white rice and had the leftover with mashed potatoes. Both were good but the mashed potatoes won the day! The next time I am going to try skinless, bone-in chicken thighs. I’ll update you soon!
