Well, I had to do it again, didn’t I? I don’t know what it is about slow cooker oatmeal that has me so hypnotized but I love it. I like making different types of it, too, and so far haven’t made the same kind twice. Ever since my last slow cooker apple cinnamon oatmeal, I’ve been craving something a little sweeter–which is sort of how I came up with this Marmalade Maple Oatmeal.

At first, I was going to use bananas and apples in the oatmeal, but then I found a great lemon raspberry marmalade in the back of my fridge and decided that was the way to go. Okay, so I’d never even heard of someone making oatmeal with marmalade but, I figured, why not try?

I wasn’t sure that it would be enough, so I added a little bit of maple syrup to the mix. And that was it! This is probably the easiest oatmeal I’ve made so far. I combined the marmalade, maple, oats and water and set it overnight. When I woke up, my delicious breakfast was calling out to me.

Slow Cooker Marmalade Maple Oatmeal

Slow Cook: 7 hours on Low

Ingredients:
1 cup marmalade (I used lemon raspberry)
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 cup steel-cut oats
4 cups water

Directions:
In the bottom of your slow cooker, combine the marmalade and maple syrup, stirring it together. Then place the oats on top, pour in the water and set the slow cooker for 7 hours on Low overnight. When you wake up, simply take out and enjoy the meal!
