At this time of trying to figure out what to get family and friends for holiday gifts – I thought I would share some products and companies that I thought had some interesting gift ideas…Some for home, some just for style…Just some creative directions to inspire…Check them out…

A great cutting board or serving tray that has a very eco-friendly message – they are only made from already fallen or felled trees…The Chocolate Lab seems to approve!

Wooden Tray

A great accent for the corner of a room or mantle – not just at Christmastime.  Reminds me of something you would have seen in the film “Under The Tuscan Sun.”

Holiday Accent from Napa Style

I love Mason Jars and their classic style.  Now make them an oil lamp and I like them even more!

This is a great gift for the kids.  A mix of great style and function.

Being someone that loves taking pictures – I am always interested to see what’s out there for creative products.  This camera allows you to shoot 360 with real film (not digital).  I think this is the perfect gift for the photographer in the family, a teen or for yourself to create those unique photographs of the holidays in your home in 360 – capturing the whole scene!  Something different and creative.  I like thinking of this being used in renovation projects too – shooting the whole process in 360 – so you can capture the whole journey of your makeover.

I love wood products in the home – something that makes a great gift and something you can pass on through the generations…From bowls and tableware to furniture and accessories.

This company based in Vermont was hit very hard by Hurricane Irene this year.  I visited their factory and showroom this fall and I was blown away by how the flood waters caused by Irene damaged their facility.  Yet, they are going strong and are a great example of what Vermont is all about.  Check them out!

Handmade Wood Products

This is a phrase I use a great deal – so when I saw this simple clock it made me laugh…

Unique Gifts

For someone that wants a bit of country style for their kitchen or maybe some unique storage for the home office…

Cannisters

Love the retro look of these cameras on this tote bag…Plus it is made completely of recycled materials!

One last push for those photographers on your list…When shooting those holiday videos – why not try some cinematic techniques when capturing those holiday moments…A tabletop dolly!  Yes, you too can get those stylish home moments captured in beauty shots just like in the movies.   Clamp on your camera and start shooting!

This is a must-have in my home – I always have a bag of these around.  I scatter them on window ledges (away from curtains and out of reach of kids) and bring in glowing light during the holidays.  They last for a few hours and there is no clean up.  I just put them out as they are.  All about the light at this time of year!

Tea Light Candles

Linens and tableware are always a great gift.

Organic lotions are always a good thing.  My favorite product is their “Chapstuff” – for those winter-chapped lips that we get up here in New England!

Great, good stuff.

All about the light – love these simple candles for the saint of wine and vintners…A perfect gift for a hostess or the wine-lover on your list.

Being a designer that loves to cook too – these were a favorite product in 2011.  Love the look of them in the kitchen and the spices are truly amazing to cook with! Plus, they are all made organically!

Great wood products for the kids and family…This is a family-owned company with products made right here in the USA!

A must-have in the house at holiday time too – wine glasses for all your guests…You can never have enough on hand.

IKEA – Red Wine Glasses

Here is a unique offering for flatware – going the vintage silverware route by the pound!

From a design standpoint – as a personal gift – this watch is a favorite.  Not only is made from sandlewood – with a eco-friendly spin to it –  it truly is very unique and carries a certain warmth about it.  It caught my eye.

Uncommon Goods

Last, I share with you art as a creative gift idea too…
