Presidential Game Time

The 57th Presidential Election is nearing the finish line and it’s time to choose our next president. For some, this decision may be easy and for others, it may prove harder than expected. Who is the best leader to revive our economy’s financial slump? What personal hopes—greater health care benefits and green development—will affect your political decision? Where can you find straightforward political without a biased viewpoint? Thankfully there is help via Budget Hero – Election Edition, a Federal budget balancing game created by The Wilson Center.

Budget Hero gives gamers the challenge to push back American’s “budget bust” and earn personal value badges, such as “Health & Wellness”, “Barack Obama”, and “Mitt Romney” by playing tax cards and creating a projected 2032 economy. Throughout the game, players are informed with economic data and the impact of their decisions so that they may choose their “budget cuts” and play “tax cards” towards a healthier economy. The results of the challenge let players know if they’ve earned their political badges and how their budget stacks up against current policies in place, giving guidance towards their political choice, which may prove handy before hitting the polls!
