If you haven’t signed up for Hautelook, you’re missing out. Based in California, this flash site sale has mastered that laid-back “West Coast cool” look and successfully translated it into the home. You don’t need an invitation to create an account and shop products up to 75 percent off retail, some of which are unavailable to consumers without a decorator as a middleman. And the main curator behind the home team, Kecia Hielscher, honed her craft at Williams Sonoma Inc., so the products they choose have serious style.

Recently, they teamed up with LA-based interior designer Kyle Schuneman to transform a couple of New York City apartments with products from their site. Think low-cost, high impact upgrades. Take a look at Emma’s apartment before, and then feast your eyes on its transformation.

Emma's Apartment Before

She had nice wood floors, but white on white looks sterile, and you can’t see any of the apartment’s architectural charm.

Red paint really energizes the space and makes the moldings pop, while black and white artwork (plus chevron printed Roman shades) adds a little extra zip.

Here’s the crazy part: Kyle accomplished this with a couple gallons of paint and products from HauteLook that tallied up to, wait for it, $1,758. That’s 57 percent off the original retail of $4,133 for all the tables, chairs and the rest of the accessories in the space (minus the sofa, which you’ll recognize from the before photo).

So if you’re family room could use a facelift, and you like what you see, check out HauteLook right now. They’re running a Vintage Modern sale inspired by the red room above till the end of the night. Sign-up is free, and inspiration awaits.
