Growing up watching Disney princess movie after Disney princess movie, followed by a few more Disney princess movies, I developed an indelible bond with the characters from those films. So, products inspired by those stories are hard for me to resist.

The characters we love to hate from Disney’s beloved tales have been re-imagined. The company unveiled a newDesigner Villains Collection featuring products with stylized representations of their most famous and loved—or feared—bad girls. Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, Ursula from the Little Mermaid, Mother Gothel from Tangled and Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmations have all lent their famous visages to this new glamorized line.

The centerpieces of the collection are each villain’s limited edition doll; only 13,000 of each doll will be made and they will be released one character a week for six weeks starting in September. The dolls have haute couture-inspired details, like long exaggerated eyelashes, dramatic hairstyles and textural outfits.

While the dolls themselves are beautiful, I gravitate more toward the other villain products. There are journals and mugs covered in the original sketch art that inspired the dolls. These drawings have dark, gothic elements and are reminiscent of high fashion. The line also has clothes, accessories and stationery.

What really caught my eye, though, quite literally, were the beauty products. Eye shadow, lip-gloss and nail polish have all been inspired by the menacing ladies’ dark personalities. I tested out the six-color eye palette—one hue for each wicked woman—and while it didn’t turn me into a villainous creature, the metallic shades did make me feel ready for a night on the town. I’m also rocking Maleficent’s signature shade on my nails right now. It’s a rich teal with a muted sparkle that adds just the right amount of glam to any outfit.

Disney’s Designer Villain Collection will hit DisneyStore.com starting August 19 and Disney Stores nationwide in September.
