It’s been exactly one week since Thanksgiving, but I’m still feeling the post-Turkey pudge. That’s why I’m turning to my new fitness obsession, SoulCycle, to ward off holiday weight gain. The adrenaline-pumping spinning class delivers a full-body workout, torching up to 700 calories in just 45 minutes. Sassy instructors, playlists that keep you peddling, and their signature candles make it feel more like a dance party on a bike than a sweat session. There are seven locations in New York and one coming to L.A. next month, but you can do this quick drill at home. Dust off your stationary bike and follow these instructions for a 10-minute high intensity interval training routine from the team at SoulCycle:

  • 2-minute warm-up at about 40% intensity level
  • Follow with 2 rounds of the following:
  • 1 min at 70%-80% intensity level
  • 2 min at 50% intensity level
  • Finish with 2 minute cool down

For the complete SoulCycle experience, blast your favorite upbeat tunes and light one of their yummy citrus candles ($40; available online after December 15th).
