A Water Resistant Laptop Bag for Dad

The Dad in my life (my husband) is a bicycle commuter. Rain or shine, he saddles up and rides to his office. And he usually does it with a cell phone, computer, and often a tablet tucked into his well-worn saddle bags. So, when Crypton sent me this Laptop Clutch ($65) to try out and told me it was made with a fabric that is treated to make it, “stain, liquid and odor-causing bacteria resistant”; I instantly thought, Father’s Day gift!
According to the pitch I got with this–super cute, BTW–bag, you can “spill any juice or water on this fabric, and it simply beads right up!”
I had to try that. So I poured some soda on it and watched as it collected together and sat on the surface, refusing to soak in. I wiped it off and the bag was dry and clean. Yep. His laptop will be safe in there even if he decides to bike through a downpour.
There are pockets on both sides, too, so he can tuck any papers, tablets, or other small gear in that he wants to keep dry and safe on his commute.
The bag fits neatly into his saddle bag so I don’t have to convince him to change anything else. As part of my research for this post, I asked him his opinion of the bag (not telling him that I was studying him as much as the bag) and he deemed it, “Nice. I don’t care about bags. But I’d carry that.” And then he looked hopeful.
