I’m loving the slow cooker story our food editor, Julie Miltenberger, created for Family Circle‘s October issue, on newsstands today. It features recipes for five sandwiches, and they all look fantastic! Each is hearty enough to be dinner, or you could use less meat and eat them for lunch. They’d be great for company, too.
Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwich: The photo above is enough to make me want to try this recipe ASAP.
Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwich: I think of French Dip sandwiches as comfort food, and this strikes me as the perfect fall recipe.
Slow Cooker Cuban Sandwich: Cuban sandwiches have such a nice mix of flavors and textures, with the tang of the mustard and crunch of pickles enhancing the two types of pork.
Slow Cooker Open-Faced Turkey Sandwich: I would definitely add some cranberry sauce to make this sandwich even more like Thanksgiving on a plate.
Slow Cooker Sweet Chili Rolls: Since it’s made with ground turkey and pinto beans, you can indulge in without guilt.
