5 Easy Gifts to Make for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is fast approaching and whether you have one mom in your life or many, it’s always nice when you can whip up something handmade. It’s even nicer (for you) when that something handmade is pretty and polished, but fits into the hectic schedule that the moms in your life understand all too well!

Make your mom a disc of songs you think she’ll love and package it in a CD holder that doubles as a picture frame. BHG.com

I adore working with air-dry clay and it’s incredibly easy to make sweet little dishes to hold jewelry or other small objects. This lace bowl is from Soda Pop Design (in German, so use Google translate). You can also find directions on working with air-dry clay at Family Circle.com and Urban Comfort.

Ceramic tiles and pretty papers pair up to create one-of-a-kind coaster sets. Blueprint Crafts

This decoupaged eyelet lace vase is one of the easiest, fastest, most satisfying projects I’ve ever made and the results are gorgeous. BHG.com and additional examples on Urban Comfort

It’s possible that I’m pushing the limits with “easy” on this project, but I just had to include it. I first saw it in Sania Pell’s book, The Homemade Home and I can’t wait to make one of these this year. But I looked for examples of it created by someone else (just to make sure it was easy enough) and I found this great portrait on The Creative Salad. Give your mom portraits of her grandchildren or even a portrait of herself when she was young.
